I have been hearing about this spot for awhile. Today I was finally able to go there to eat. The food is very good. It was hot when I got it and was still hot when I got ready to eat it at home. I will definitely be going back soon.

This was our first time here but we will definitely be back! Being caucasian and walking into a soul food restaurant can be somewhat intimidating but the staff made that all go away as soon as you walked in the door. So warm and welcoming. I had the fried pork chop, greens and lima beans. All excellent and well seasoned. The pork chop was tender and juicy with the perfect coating that had a slight crunch. My partner had the Meatloaf over rice with gravy, greens and Mac and cheese. He said this was a winning combination and gobbled the whole thing down. Lauren ( the owner ) and staff are amazing. We will be back soon!

My first time that everything went smoothly that pineapple tea was good. I had 2 cups of that customer service was excellent food was fresh and hot fried fish and shrimp with macaroni cheese. Oh my goodness and the meatloaf mashed potatoes and gravy was good mashed potato a little, not so soft on the side so that’s the only thing the mashed potatoes they need to work on, both plates were excellent. The green beans, the cabbage super good. I don’t know who making that dish but they need to keep on doing it cause I eat it all up but other than that everything went smooth was good. Food was good. Customer service was excellent. Will be going backfor more plates so if you’re ever in Jacksonville area, go ahead and stop by you won’t regret it

All the way from NYC with love . When I say we landed in Jacksonville and HAD to try this black owned excellent establishment. Every single item ordered was fresh, MADE TO ORDER HOT, and amazing taste. The love of ancestors is in every bite of the food! We recommend smothered turkeys w/ rice, mac and cheese, collared greens, green beans, corn nuggets, yams, fried wings and fried shrimp x10000. Absolutely amazing and refreshing to have a good southern meal. Finish off with pineapple lemonade, thank me later! 10/10 recommend and I will be back every time honestly, excellent vibe and southern comfort food. Update 6/23/25: it’s been 3 weeks since I been back to Sweet Mama's (yes I came back a year later had to!) and of course the food is still out of this world! The lemonade, the chicken hot and fresh and my same crew still there preparing fresh food. Loved the experience again and it was a pleasure bringing my mother and aunt here to witness good southern cooking. Keep it up hunny!

We came back to Jacksonville FL for a visit. Searching for some great food over the past two days, we called Sweet Mama's. Knowing the area. Everyone knows you crack the door and sniff. If the smell from the kitchen doesn't fill your nose and water, your mouth RUN. Sweet Mama's was just that and more. The food was outstanding, and the service was awesome. If you haven't been here and visiting Jacksonville, go by for dinner. GOD has blessed this food with an angel that delivered the seasoning. Everyone was so nice, and we even got to take a photo with Sweet Mama Bonus.
